Responsible for the leadership of technical teams of up to 30 persons, with project budgets of up to $10MM.  Extensive experience in the coordination of development teams in disparate offices, including outside the U.S. Experience includes the successful completion of a number of challenging assignments where I was responsible for identifying and resolving leadership and technical issues for “at-risk” projects.

Comprehensive technical and project management responsibilities for a web-based system to automate the settlement of personal property losses.  System utilizes a real-time database of over 30,000 items to identify the correct replacement item from the best available vendor, and automatically submits an order.  The system uses a complex business domain to calculate the appropriate settlement based upon the insured’s policy and state of residence.  Rational Rose, Java applets, HTML, a custom-built Java server running on AIX (IBM Unix).

Design and leadership responsibilities for an application architecture to migrate the company’s life insurance business to an internet platform.  The architecture successfully supports an average of 15,000 transactions per hour.  Rational Rose, Java applets, HTML, custom-built Java server.

Comprehensive design responsibility for numerous web-based applications utilizing a Microsoft platform (ASP, COM, MTS).  Assignments included a project to automate the completion of insurance applications, including the enforcement of state-specific business rules.  The application leveraged existing business logic on the OS/390 platform by using DCOM and MQ-Series technologies, and was adopted for use company-wide.

Numerous object-oriented development assignments using Java and Visual Smalltalk.

Completed over 300 hours of professionally lead project management and leadership training courses, and over 700 hours of similar technical training.
