We decided to upgrade the kitchen in our new place. The appliances that typically come with new construction condos are notoriously cheap. Ours were already starting to show their age and encounter some minor hiccups.
We shopped-around for last year's models and had great success! We ended-up with some really nice high-end appliances at really reasonable prices. Jace's favorite feature is the crushed ice dispenser in the refrigerator door. Liz likes the convection oven and the little disco movies that play on the microwave while it's cooking our food. (Ask her to see the matching disco dance.) :)
The installers were going to charge $450 to install everything, but Jace was able to do it for us. The next step is to list all the old appliances online at Craig's List to see who will buy them. We'll be able to donate whatever doesn't sell to the Salvation Army.
