Today I tried out shoppin' with baby. Lauren and I decided to take it easy since it was just the two of us. I put Lauren in her Baby Bjorn and headed over to the Jewel (yes, the supermarket that is literally across the street). We didn't have to go far, and I only bought some hot dog buns and potato salad, but it was a good first excursion for the two of us. I'll should also note that using the self checkout lane is not only faster, but it greatly reduces the number of people who will talk to you about your baby.
Liz, you look great..how do you feel...I just showed this to Leslie and told him that 3 weeks from day after tomorrow, we will get to see you and Jace and Lauren..it is just killing me..and I do appreciate the photos, or I would REALLY be nuts..thanks again..Grandma Saundra
When you go to the supermarket and you have Lauren in the car seat, which is nested in the shopping cart, keep a blanket draped over her. That way, people REALLY don't bother you about your baby (although some people can be rather brazen and ask you to sneak a peek). At that tender age, you have to be careful about germs!! (boy, I'm starting to sound like my mom...)
Thanks for the tip, Vicky. I already insist that we do the blanket thing....because it keeps out the boys. And now we know it will keep out germs, too -- and germs are definitely a good thing to keep out (second to boys, of course). :)
