This photo was taken near my house along the
Constitution Trail in Bloomington, Illinois. I grabbed this shot during an
excursion around my house following a freak snow storm
on March 16. More photos from my neighborhood are included in my
Photo Album.
Speaking strictly in terms of capturing the scene, this photo was pretty good straight from the camera. The exposure and color were
pretty good. But, the photo didn't accurately portray the interest of the setting. Some parts of the trail lacked snow, and
drew attention from the snow-capped fence and tree canopy along the trail. So, I decided to be aggressive within Photoshop, and
edit the photo and refocus the viewer's attention. I admit that the "photographic purist" in me cringes at this. But let's
be honest here -- it's not like I'm some incredible artist. I figure I need all the help I can get.
Okay, enough with the apologetics. I hope you like it. Or, maybe you
hate it. If you feel strongly one way or another, feel free to drop me a note. Beyond that, enjoy.
