If you find this photo interesting, stay tuned for more. I had a little
bit of spare time this evening, and felt like doing something a little bit
creative. I took my Canon S80 camera, set it to a one second exposure, and
tossed it around after pushing the shutter button. It took me a while to
get the effect I wanted. This is a combination of a stain-glass desk lamp
in the evening twilight out the window.
I'm going to keep experimenting with this technique as I have time.
This is one of the things I really like about the Canon S50 -- it's compact
enough to make this type of work feasible, but still has a high level of
photographic control that I'm used to on my Canon 10D. I also like the
fact that it accepts the same type-2 micro drives as I use in my SLR. I
also like that it takes movies, which is a fun feature in a small camera.
I bought the camera used at B&H for about $200 bucks, and I've been really happy
with it.
