This photo was taken on Lake Titicaca near Puno, Peru. The island in the
photo is made entirely from reeds that are native to the lake. The island literally
floats on the lake, with nothing but an anchor to maintain its location. More
information is available in the related Photo Album.
Minimal editing has been done to this photo. I cropped the image, and then used Photoshop's curves feature to make
some small adjustments in exposure. I finished with a small amount of sharpening. It's not the best photo I've
ever taken, but at least the subject makes it noteworthy. Look for some much better shots in the coming weeks, as I add
the remainder of my photos I took while Peru last November.
