I grabbed this shot on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon. This was taken around sunset.
As with the last time I was at the canyon, I didn't take too many photos.
The canyon is just one of those places that photos can't accurately depict.
For me, it goes a little further. I personally didn't really start to get
impressed with the canyon until I hiked into it. Then, a couple miles
within, I began to get my head around it all. The grandeur and scale are
amazing.
I considered taking some panoramic, but that too would be inaccurate.
To accomodate the entire canyon in a reasonable length, you'd loose all the
subtly of the rock face and the light that strikes it. Consider this -- for
this shot, you're seeing about 5% of the total vista.
