This photo was taken in the mountains surrounding Devil's Head State Park in
Wisconsin. I like the fact that it represents both the pine cone in it's
formative state, and the needles after they've fallen.
There's not a whole lot more to say. The sky/landscape wasn't particularly
appealing that day. So I snapped this macro shot while I was waiting for
some friends during a hike.
It's unfortunate that the image falls out of focus near the edge of the frame.
I'm pretty sure that's because I was shooting a macro (very limited focus
plane), and wasn't squarely on top of the subject.
