I was at Wrigley Field the day after the notorious corked-bat issue broke.
Ten minutes before game time, the decision was made that Sosa would appeal.
As a result, he took the field in the night's game.
I'm amazed this shot came out as well as it did, considering the conditions.
First, I was using a massive telephoto lens without a tripod. With a long
lens, any camera shake tends to get amplified. Second, I was using a very
slow shutter speed.
I was pleased with the performance of my 75-300mm lens in
this shot. After a run of few lousy shots over the past few months, I had been forming some doubts.
This photo came out particularly well following a bit of unsharp mask in
Photoshop. The web doesn't do this photo justice. I'm eager to see
what this photo will look like as an 8x10 print.
This photo has been cropped, but remains otherwise unaltered.
