Not a lot to say about this photo.
It was taken while on a trip to the Willamette Valley just
south of Portland. The photo is taken using a Russian-made (Belarus) lens
-- the Peleng 8mm. This lens takes some time to master -- and I'm not
there yet. The lens is fully manual, and below average optical quality.
It also produces a relatively odd cropping pattern on my 10D, which I have to
consider when composing the photo. It has taken me
some time to consider my technique. One improvement over my
last attempt
has been a better vignette effect in Photoshop.
This photo isn't too remarkable. To be honest, the
fisheye really doesn't do much for it, except show more rows of vines.
I think the lens serves best where there is something in the
foreground of interest, and the surrounding environment is only important to
place the subject in context. Future attempts with this lens will focus on
that approach.
