Grand Canyon Condors
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
November 16, 2002
These condors were unexpected surprise when a friend and I hiked the South Kaibab
trail in mid-November. They were a highlight of the trip -- second only to
the opportunity to descend into the canyon itself, and the perspective it
offered. I estimate that the average wing-span on
these condors was about four feet. I think they were part of a reloaction
program, as they were tagged and didn't have much fear of humans.
