March Snow in the Neighborhood
Bloomington, IL
I was at my house in central Illinois when a small storm-front moved through, and provided
about three inches of snowfall. This was one of those nice, "wet" snows -- the kind that
clings to all of the trees and houses. So, I set out on a little excursion to capture the
scene. I headed down the street to the country club, hoping for a few great shots of snow-laden
trees. I got a few shots, but wasn't really happy with the results. So on the walk back,
I grabbed a few shots of some of the older historic homes in the neighborhood. The rest of the
shots come from a jogging trail that runs alongside my house -- it's a great source of friends
dropping by, but a nagging reminder on those days when I'm too lazy to get out there an exercise....
Perhaps that best part of all is how quickly this snow came and went. Within a couple hours of
shooting these photos, the snow began to melt. By 5:00 P.M. that day, it had virtually vanished.
