Hiking Gear
Most of my hiking is comprised of day hikes and single overnight treks. My
gear tends to evidence that. I've pressed it into extended service before,
in places like Peru and Morocco. But the rest of my hiking has been close
to a car. Mostly, I buy mid-range gear that I expect to eventually replace.

Camping Gear
I have a rather basic compliment of camping gear. Mostly higher-end stuff,
that I expect to last me a long time. I scrimp on cooking gear. If I
wanted a steak and eggs, I would have stayed at home. For a big guy, I do
surprising well on nothing but granola for days on end.

Luggage and Tourist Gear
I don't stress over most of my tourist gear. I

much attention.
